OUT FRONT

OUT FRONT

_________

I am grateful for...

The arched roof above my head

The twin rafters with

The twin lights, holding it in place

The four walls surrounding me

The two windows with

The two Venetian blinds, down & shut at all times

The red brick floor below my feet

The wooden shelves full of books & movies

The VHS by themselves & DVDs in clear totes

Cigarretes In The Mirror

Tell me where you'll go with all your burns,
reserve smile whispering the truth,
vanishing without a trail every time as she turns,
old age burdain and transient youth.

Blue as neverending sea,
light and blue
all I ever needed,
all I've never proved,
all I ever needed,
light and blue,
blue as neverending sea.

Don't tell me why have you returned with all your burns,
visible frown as...

The Great Devour

[  ] The stress burns the brain with great fire.

[  ] The mind shrinks; the body tires.

[  ] The vivid image is no longer the building of & empire.

[  ] The tension crumbles the goals that were once desired.

[  ] For the stars they once looked upon to aim higher.

[  ] But the ground 6 feet deep they now desire.

[  ] For the pain hurts & there is no denial.

Resistance

And tides are still the same as they were,
fluid numbers, one piece in folded milions,
telling us why we all need to reach the bottom,
embracing drops of broken brilliance.

Wait until it all comes down,
your whispers rest in front of the broken Avalon,
inside our shell is something we all found,
blue-red pictures reflected by the dawn.

And tides are still the same as they were,
connec...

Pi

Someday we'll find a way to
protect our dreams and seek our hopes,
words - soft as July's razors
disappearing path, forbiden trace,
screaming loud, carving into stones - deliverance, replace -
''true love hurries but it always waits'',
never...in the same place.

Someday we'll find a way to
fly away and disappear,
going higher as we never did before,
staring at the same old mindless m...

Dancing Shadows

Right there in front of our eyelids. Beating sylhouettes, shaking waves, swallowing the last crystals from the ground. Transcending the sounds with a great rage and leaving the pace behind while calling it unsuccessfully back again. At the place where paleness combines with moonlight in the most disasterous ways, protecting their last luminescence alive.
    Shadows dancing through shadows of...

Visitor

Take me through your mind,
through all the things we need to face,
broken trails hard to find,
full of strangers
following their paths,
protecting their days.

Take me through your land
through the eyes of different people
scattered in the dark,
with no reason for a blame,
we are here just for a while,
our fears are all the same.

Take me through your beauty
carneval lights falling...

A Poem A Day For A Year - 19/01/15

It always makes me laugh when a person’s bio on their social media account says ‘All thoughts on this account are my own and are in no way demonstrative of those of <name of corporation they work for>. What they are essentially saying is ‘these are the things I really think, when I am being myself in real life but when I am in the office, I think what they pay me to think.’ Since when did we becom...

A Poem A Day For A Year & Self-Evaluation - 18/01

So Sunday is the day on which I am dedicating to self-evaluation. As you may know, at the moment I am going through a bout of depression, which comes and goes and affects me to the point where I freeze at the thought of doing anything even remotely helpful. I am trying to combat this by forcing myself to do things that I see as ‘putting myself out there for the world.’ This blog and Poem A Day For...

A Poem A Day For A Year - 17/01/15

I’m a little drunk off lucky dip tokens at our local bar so today’s blog will be brief. I think some of you may appreciate that after yesterday’s anti-feminism post. Though that post garnered the highest reception since I started doing this so maybe I should lay into good causes more often. Oxfam, I’m coming for you next.

As far as weeks go, it’s not been a good one this week. My productivity h...

A Poem Is Just Ink in the Shape Of

I'm studying Creative Writing in university, and my first poetry lectures were all about trying to define what poetry is. Personally I found this a bit unnecessary; I've never felt the need to put the entire art of poetry in a box, draw a diagram of it and give a lab report on its composition - it's one of those things you just feel, right? However, in class we were asked to write an Ars Poetic...

On the dispersal of water

It’s 1:30 am.

He takes me away from the others unpacking,

opens the front door to the first night

in our first home and squirts WD-40

over both hinges, explains

WD is water dispersal,

NASA concocted this stuff

to keep fields of rockets

from turning orange, then burnt umber.

He heard this on his pocket radio

cycling along blustery North London roads
